Special larynx singing workshop
Although only medical students need to memorize all the parts of the larynx and the function of each individual structure within the throat, gaining a better understanding of how the larynx and vocal cords work helps any singer to improve his technique and keep his vocal health.
The structure of the larynx is highly complex and is very interesting to observe how their 9 cartilage and 18 muscles afect to the vocal function.
The larynx is the cornerstone of the issuance of the voice and it can produce vibration, change the timbre or colour of your voice, extend register; make the sound deeper or thinner, more metallic or velvet, more pop or operatic…
What are we going to do in this workshop
- We will study the anatomy of the larynx and its functions.
- We will see how the individual structures influence in the voice.
- We will observe how the larynx is used by different singers.
- We will use everything we learned to practice in different songs.
