Music communicates so much that a beautiful way to define it would be «the sound of emotion». And, if we stop to think about why we like a song or another, we will realize that, in general, we select based on what provokes us a song if it is in line with what you are feeling at that time.
Emotion tends to be behind every topic that you are passionate
What kind of songs you like to listen to when you are happy, sad, frustrated, angry, overwhelmed or in love? You will probably have certain songs and/or
artists chosen for each state of mind, but why does this happen? Psychology offers these possibilities: 1. We like people like us. 2. The predominant emotion in the atmosphere spreads.

Therefore, when an artist portrays a state of mind that you are passing in a song, it is likely that you feel attracted to his music. In this sense, when an artist is able to connect with the emotions implied in the subject that interprets, it will make your audience feel these emotions and to give depth to the song,
thus influencing the environment in a contagious form. As a singer, you have the power to choose what emotions you want to make your audience feel. All you have to do is
choose appropriate songs that connect with your audience and interpret them in a genuine and deep way. And now that we understand that music is much more than notes and words, let's talk about what we, as singers, can do in order to
make our voice connect on the emotional level with our public.
It analyzes the song
If you want to transmit to the fullest and even move the skin of your audience, it is important to know very clearly
how you feel when singing each song fragment. Some songs offer a consistent emotional feeling, but many others will evolve as the song advances and give rise to different emotions. The emotion portrayed in the singer's voice does not always have to be in line with the letter. Sometimes we use sarcasm to
evoke emotions in a song. Therefore, before you start to sing a song, sit down and take a few minutes to break down each of their lines to have very clear what you should transmit when you interpret it.
Add emotion, but make it authentic
You can use variations of the dynamics and tone for
add some excitement to your interpretation; you can pronounce differently words dominated by vowels or consonants, you can color the tone through a particular use of your breath… This list of resources is extensive. The bad news is that if you have to 'make it' will not be authentic. In other words, if you are technically able to create different shades and colors in your voice, but there is no
real excitement back there, the connection is never going to be natural. Think about it. Someone once said to you that he or she loved you, but you noticed that there was no sincerity in his words? This is the same. We can practice the process of making different sounds throughout the day, but if we don't really feel what we're saying, it will not work at all. This is why for us, as artists, the most important thing is
to merge voice and heart in our interpretation to show us real.
Singing with emotion
Honestly, singing with emotion can be one of the most difficult aspects to get to a singer. In order to achieve success, we have to «undress» and make us vulnerable to show to the public
how we actually feel. And not everyone can do it. Not all the singers are willing to open a window on their soul, get rid of your mask and show what it's like when things are not going quite right. This is why not all people who sing can touch its public in a genuine and real way. The singers who truly connect with his audience and is
able to transmit emotions they are a
rare case, exceptional artists. Therefore, in Espai Coriveu we do not tire of encourage you to experiment with your emotions while you sing, to feel in depth each of the words you utter. Because singing with emotion
is what makes a true artist of any singer. Are you willing to try?

It's the million dollar question, all my students ask me how to transmit singing, with emotion. It is something that as well exposed, you can learn and it's worth a try, with work and effort we can shine our emotions in artistic expression and singing.
